Appropriate sales commission?
I have a business that is growing and the employee would like to have his salary increased to include commission from sales... what is a common retail sales commission for a furniture store?

well that would depend on your net profit. I would calculate how much you make on each item after your expenses, and then figure in enough commission that would make your staff happy and making interesting without taking too much away from you own pocket. I would also suggest sales goals and if they meet those sales goals of so much sales a week or month then they get a bonus on top of the commission. That is how we always have done it. Just a suggestion I hope this helps.
