CPU running at max and causing everything to bog down??

When I bring up the task manager, it shows smsystemanalyzer.exe using most of the power. Why has it started doing this? Is there a solution?

Before you do anything else, please run disk cleanup and disk defragmenter. Try it first.

    Start

    All Programs

    Accessories

    System Tools

    Disk cleanup

put a check mark on everything

    then click ok and ok

    Disk Defragmenter

    Select C Drive

    Click defrag button

none of the answers so far are effective, or efficent at this.

quite simply, just end the task in task manager, to fix it temporarily. after that, do the following:

click start, then click run, and type "msconfig"

once you pull that window up, click on the "startup" tab at the top.

you will then see a list of things. look up and down the list until you find "smsystemanalyzer.exe" and uncheck the box.

it will prompt you to reboot. do so, and once your computer starts up, the task should no longer run.

if this does not work, boot in safe mode, go to start then click search. select "search all files and folders" and type "smsystemanalyzer" into the box, but do not add .exe to the search, or it may not work. once you find the file, just delete it and you're good to go.

It could be not enough Ram because when a computer runs out it switches to Virtual Ram which is part of the Hard Drive being used as Ram. Another possible cause is your computer isn't powerful enough to run the Operating System you have.

couple of quick things to do:

    run virus scan

    run spyware scan

    run registry mechanic> download it

if still persist, download windows defender. will give yoou the option of stoppping what programs run. smsystemanalyzer.exe is a low level program, shutting it down wont cause a major problem. if you can locate the program in your add/remove programs then delete it and be done.

Might try running adaware, it is a free virus software that you download from adaware.com
