You should check out Motorhead, if you haven't heard them.
Also do some research on something called The New Wave of British Heavy Metal, it was a music fad that influenced a lot of modern rock bands (especially Mettalica). Judas Priest is one of the best known NWOBHM bands.
Some good new bands that are definitely not emo and are influenced by classic hard rock are:
The Sword
Clutch
Mastadon
Also, Slayer are consistently amazing.

Some of the older Stone Temple Pilots albums might be good for you. Also check out Alice in Chains Greatest hits album (it's been about 10 years since I bought that one but the cd case was neon orange!) You might like Pearl Jam's Ten album, anything by Staind or Pantera and probably some older Megadeath... \m/

You seem to like METAL not exactly really rock....
Thrash Metal: Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Oh God... So many (Thx to God)
Death Metal: Death, Extol, Morbid Angel, Opeth, Amorphis, Late Children of Bodom
Black Metal: Early Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Naglfar, Arvinger (christian black), Behemoth, Satyricon
I do tend to stay away from the extremists of Satan like Satyricon, but hey, they and venom are some of Black Metal's defining artists. I like the really controversial, Christian Black Metal. Many think that Black Metal is exclusively Satanistic. NOT SO, I make Christian Black Metal Myself. Black Metal is a musical style that is not limited by lyrical content (even though you have to generally like hard to touch topics or negative topics: Taboo topics are common in Christian Black Metal-they usually are to to Satanism or the occult as Satanism or the occult is to christianity), Black metal is limited by production, image and sound content. HUGE Treble screams and guitars that are heavy with treble. Big Bass Guitar sound but very moderate bass with little mids on the guitar. VERY heavy and difficult drums similar to death metal.
Death Metal is much more of a generalized type and has big bass thick with distortion and over the top drums and screams. Violent lyrics are common but there is plenty of positive and christian lyrics too. Guitars have heavy and difficult riffs and/or solos.
Thrash Begat both of these: your band Metallica along with megadeth, slayer and testament were some of the fathers of thrash. it usually contains life lyrics, violent lyrics, religious lyrics or (in the Slayer Case) black metal satanic or anti religious lyrics.
