lies has many forms and there is no human being on whole of this earth who can claim he never lied ....
but once u lie ... it will never hurt u if it didn't harm anyone ... so as long as u think ur lie is not worth someones fortune then u can lie .... there many acceptable lies then ... intolerable truths ...
in business ethics ... lie is considered as to promise and not to deliver thats all ... so there we lose the good will and the business ... anycase never promise wat u can't give ...

Well, a liar isn't much more than a person who lies, so in the strictest possible sense even one lie would prove that you are a person who lies.
You could be more strict than even that, and say that as long as it is POSSIBLE for a person to lie then they are a liar even without that proof - even though you haven't lied yet, you are still a person who lies. It would only be an accident that the opportunity hasn't arisen. A hammer is still a hammer before it drives even one nail.
This ignores the possibility of change, however. After all, children are shorter than adults, but they don't always remain so. So too do even adults often change their outlook, behaviour, and so on. The only way that one lie permanently makes a person a liar is if it is IMPOSSIBLE for that person to change.
Once you allow for the possibility of change, then any number of past lies might fail to demonstrate that a particular person is a liar. To draw an extreme example, a person who had lost his arms is probably not a piano player, even if he played millions of songs before he lost them. A person with a reformed outlook might just as easily not be a liar, regardless of the past.
It all depends on where you draw the line and what possibilities you are open to.

If a person who lies is a liar, then it depends. I'll explain. If you are in the process of lying, then yes, you are a liar at that moment in time. However, because a liar is a person who lies and not a person who has lied, then once the lie is over you are no longer a liar. See what I mean?

Well, yes, I suppose you are. If you lie, you are a liar. Of course, you can then go deeper into the matter as to whether you are a good liar, a bad liar, if you lie a lot or if it's an occasional thing. But basically, if you lie, you are a liar.

Not necessarily. If you look at it from a Teleological perspective, if the outcome is positive then a person may not be considered a liar technically. If you are looking at it from a Deontological perspective then the act of lying in and of itself is unethical therefore the person would be considered a liar.

Actually...yes. As a specialist you can consider 99.9% of people liars. But people usually use this word for a different meaning. So try to to make your point of view clear before using it, or you will get in troubles. I said to a girl on net that I am introverted (as a Jungian term) but she got it in the popular term and probably now she thinks of me as a bookworm.

Yes. You made the choice to lie, ergo, you are now a liar...
...But only for the moment, since you have every power to take the next opportunity, which is in your next moment, to change that.

seeing as i don't think there is one person out there who has only lied once....i believe we are all liars. No matter how small of a lie, or fabrication, or tweaking of the truth a person makes...it's a lie. We are all born liars.

I would say it depends on how big the lie was, if it was something major or say you lied in court on an oath you would always be considered to be a liar.

In Business, if you lie only once, you are considered a liability.
But if you lie enough to become artful with it, then you are a success.
