Evolution, Ape and man. Story: At the zoo there was this ape/monkey show. The oldest ape took the microphone?
, pointed to a guy in the crowd, (yes, this ape could talk) and said to him "I think I recognize you." The ape walked over to the guy and told him how apes have keen instincts, memory, and senses. The ape told this guy that he is pretty sure that they are of the same original family. The ape told him that a long, LONG time ago their family split. Some took to evolution and became human and some stayed just as they were--apes. The ape said that he (the ape) is in this guys family tree The ape told him to go home and research it and he'll find that he (the ape) is actually his uncle. **Uncle Ape!** Long live evolution!! Of course this is a fabricated story, but how farfetched is it? According to evolution, man came from apes Right? There are still apes and man. Is the bottom line of the story not a possibility?.

Source(s): evolution is a fairy tale - ?Lv 45 years ago
The book was - if I rememember right (it's been 20 years since I read it but don't tell anybody that) - a thinly veiled social commentary on the evils of human nature, directed against the idealists in both Marxist and Capitalist schools. As far as the movie(s), they don't quite capture the biting political satire of the book (again from my 20-year-ago recollections), but to some extent they parabolize the events of the 60's: the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Civil Rights movement, etc. As far as what religion the apes practice, in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" (I think) we find out the hideous rubber masks the apes wear are really, well, hideous rubber masks: they all peel off their faces and bow down to the Great Atom-Bomb, Creator of their new world order where apes are ascendant and man has descended into mere creaturedom. The question that both the books and the movies raise from an evolutionary standpoint is: is evolution a reversible process or is "progress" inevitable? Do we take for granted that we are as a race evolving or can we slide back into primitive unawareness? (And will we be the architects of that slide, authors of our own destruction...) (Again, hazy memory and all, this is probably the most ill-informed answer I've ever posted on here, so take it all with a few grains of salt). Peace to you.

well yes, in many ways. First of all human and apes are different. Second, evolution is not "my grandfather is a monkey", in fact the last common ancestor humans have with apes is 6 MILLION YEARS AGO. Ok so you don't believe in evolution or the earth, so you think the earth is oh about 5000 years old, ok 5000 years, that's enough to make some humans not lactose intolerant, but i guess THAT'S STILL A LOT OF TIME ISN'T IT? Oh wait, you don't believe in time either, hmmmm now that's a little hard to work with.
And some took evolution? What is it, a vitamin pill? Oh hey waiter, give me your evolution special, and skip the appendix, I don't want to take it out later. Hey look there's a turkey, it's my uncle, that's what YOU believe. Science is backed up by replicating results, not some invisible man in the sky.
Speaking about the invisible man in the sky, what really thinks that God cares? What even makes God a He? God is supposed to be the only one, oops i mean ONE, because you know he needs to be reassured and praised by everyone, because you know, someone omnipotent, omniscient, omni-omni has some SERIOUS insecurity issues. And what makes you think God actually likes you? You're just human, no more no less than the average atheist (I do believe some smoke weed, but then there's the Ted Haggard, snorting meth off the back of a gay hooker, yeesh), and YOU think that YOU, a lowly human, is actually of ANY worth in God's eye? What happens if you piss God off with your existence? You can just be oh you know sitting there and praying, and suddenly God goes, hey I DON'T like that guy, I REALLY DON'T LIKE THAT GUY. If you don't think that can happen you sure as hell have not seen bullies in the school grounds. And then God starts to mess with you, i'm gonna make him numb right before he gets up and pray so he can't and i'll watch him squirrel around, it's gonna be hilarious.
And to answer your question, 12.

Well people say evolution doesn't exist but it's happening as we speak. It's not an over night thing so it's hard to notice immediately but never the less it's there. Humans and apes seem to have split from a common ancestor, considering we share many of the same genes. Haven't ever figured out yet why the religious don't believe in anything like that even though there's freaking factual evidence to support it. O'well it's their business. Good story, take care.

this probably makes about the bazillionth time these words are typed, but since you obviously haven't read them yet, here we go again....
man did not evolve from ape in that way.
man is an ape. if you don't believe me, pull up the full classification for our species. but man did not evolve from any ape that exists today, man and the apes of today both evolved from the same ancestor, down different paths.
your story is very farfetched. apes talking into a microphone and quoting geneology? i think not. did the monkey get the guy's ID or just recognized his "family" features?

"According to evolution, man came from apes Right?"
Wrong. How many times does this question need to be answered? We came from a common freakin ancestor, a long, long, long, long time ago.
Why not ask this in Science? What does evolution have to do with religion? People have confused this issue.

My family has a family tree. Lots of people on it.
The other day, I realised I'm related to a famous politician.
Far out! Does this I've EVOLVED from them?
No. It's means we're just related - we had a common ancestor, my great-grandmother to be exact.
There. That's the theory of evolution for you. Now go sit in your corner and finish your colouring-in books.

We share a common ancestor. To say it is the uncle is a little unlikely, but a far-off cousin, sure. Remember, that ape is the endpoint of his branching-off of the great primate line, just as we are of ours.

Hmmm....another post from someone who denounces evolution based on a false idea about what it means. In a general sense, yes hominids are related to primates, seperated by a tens of millions of years. There, that's it. The whole story.

You know, I just met a neighbor who discovered that my last name and his last name came from the same family tree. After we researched it I discovered I was related to a lot of people.Even famous people and many politicians. So, I asked, would it be a good idea to see if I could mooch off my rich relatives.Suddenly that family tree wasn't as close as it sounded.

Primates and man have the EXACT SAME enzyme deficiency caused by the EXACT SAME genetic defect and it prevents them synthesising vitamin c- evidence like that nails the creationist arguments stone dead. They share a common ancestor end of story.
