MP3 Player dropped in water?
So it was raining real heavy today, and i stacked it and dropped my Creative Zen Vision M into a deep puddle.
I picked it up really fast, but the screen flashed blue. The player was off at the time.
How bad would the damage be, and what would be the best thing to do to help it dry out? Should i help it dry out?
Its out of warranty, and the power icon on top has just started flashing
And every now and againt the screen turns white.
But i'm pretty positive it was off when it fell out of my pocket. Unless it was on for like an hour and i didn't notice.

Dry it off as best as you can. If you can open the battery compartment, do so, and dry that out, too. Remove the batteries if you can. Leave it in a warm, dry, airy place where any water inside can evaporate - leave it for 2-3 days before you put the batteries in and try turning it on.

If you can take it apart without breaking it, do that---it will help it dry faster. As long as it gets absolutely 100% dry, and was truly powered off when it fell in the water, it will be okay.
The problem is, if you can't take it apart, and water got inside, it could take a LONG time to totally dry (possibly more than a month).
The other problem is this: even if you didn't have it turned on, it may still have had some current flowing in it, in which case the water could have caused something to short. In that case, you're out of luck.
At least take out the batteries, and put it next to your heating/cooling vent for a few weeks. Then give it a try.

immediately take it apart. Open any portals or doors on the device. Set them on a counter and dry them with a hair dryer that has been put on the coolest air setting. Then, leave it open for a few hours and try again later. Any damage done by the water will have already been done and you'll know if it is salvageable. GOOD LUCK!! Oh, and carefull with too-cool air, as this may cause condensation which is not the intended result.

First if it has a battery it quite is detachable- eliminate it Secondly get a zipper lock bag and fill with white uncooked rice and placed the mp3 participant in it. permit it take a seat interior the bag of uncooked rice for no less than 24 hrs. The uncooked rice absorbs moisture.

Put it in a zip lock bag full of uncooked rice. Leave it in there for 24 hours the rice will soak up the water from the mp3 player.
It's not a guaranteed fix but it works most of the time.

don't try and open it. Just keep it in a warm dry enviroment. Let it dry for a while before you turn it on - maybe a day or two. Then cross fingers and turn it on...Hope it is OK.

put it in a bag of rice, i heard this works. also i put my cellphone in the oven when i jumped into the pool with it, it helped. good luck!!!!
