Help! I have to teach a 3 year old, a 9 year old and a 14 year old in the morning. All boys! Any ideas?

I need Sunday School concepts and craft ideas that will work for this wide age range. Can you help me?

Update:

I'm not waiting until the last minute - I just found out that I was going to have to do this. It was a complete surprise.

Update 2:

Thanks everyone! There are some great ideas here! God Bless!

Fishers of men. Read the story from Matthew 4:18-20

Explain what that means. Print out the verse. Boys like to fish so you can have a "fishing game" with whatever crafty stuff you have on hand.

Let them know that they can help tell people about Jesus. Have the 14 year old read the passage from the Bible. Look up cross references on being a witness.

    Hope this helps!

It is very strange that your fellowship would have you teaching those ages together.

I think it is best to explain to the older boys that you will have to teach to the youngest's level because, quite frankly, the three year old is far too young to understand anything that you might teach to the older ones.

With that being said, you may take this opportunity to speak to the older ones about their responsibilites as 'some day leaders' within the church body and their calling and responsibility to help guide and teach those who are younger than them.

Then enlist their help in teaching the little one, the three year old.

I like the above suggestion with "fishing." Being "fishers of men."

You start by talking about how Jesus loves all the people in the world very much. ----Have a giant red heart on the board to represent Jesus' heart.

Then have the three year old fish for smaller pictures of a MOM, DAD, SISTER, BROTHER, FRIEND, MAILMAN, POLICE MAN, DOCTOR, TEACHER, GRANDMA... ETC.

As he fishes behind a curtain, have the 14 year old attach one of these pre-cut and colored people to his fishing line and as he pulls it out, you can all discuss that he could tell this person that "Jesus loves them."

Then the 9 year old boy can go over and tape the person inside Jesus' heart on the board.

After the three year old is done fishing and all the people are taped inside the heart, you can all discuss once again how much Jesus loves EVERYONE!

Source(s): Prayers for you that this would be a blessed time for all you.

3,9,14 wow that is a ruff assignment. The idea is to make three possibilities so each age group can pick.

    1. Color Pages

    2. Construction Paper Cut Outs (to make characters)

    3. Drawing

...ETC You find many color pages online.

Trying doing Hebrews chap 11 the hero's of faith. Takes allot of time and is pretty easy.

    Hope this helps.

Book of Daniel, chapter 3, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego. Have the 14 year-old read, and be Nebuchadnezzar, have the 9 year-old be Shadrach, who answers the king. Then all go to a designated "furnace" where you dance in the flames.

The three year old could be a Chaldean who tells Nebuchadnezzar, too.

simple plot, design a little play for them.

You should be ashamed of yourself for participating in the brainwashing of children.
