I love poutine but can only get it when I visit Quebec. Is there any US substitutes for the cheese and gravy?
I've only tried the original poutine, does anyone have any good recipies I can try?

Poutine is awsome isn't it?!?
the only other kind of poutine i've seen is italian poutine, which is like chili or something over fries and looks pretty gross
and chicken poutine, everything thats in a normal poutine, with some chicken
AND smoked meat poutine, fries, smoked meat and gravy....
but if you wanna make a normal poutine, why don't you just go out and get some fries, cheese curds and a can of gravy? works for me when the craving hits! aren't i lucky though that i live in quebec though? lol
good luck with whatever you try!!

Some people make poutine with grated mozzarella cheese. It doesn't have quite the right texture, sound, or taste, but it's probably the next best thing. Maybe you could get cheese curds if you go to some kind of cheese factory or special dairy?

Not really but if you don't mind making your own, getting fries and pouring gravy and mozzarella cheese is pretty good. Although the original's still the best.

Poutine is unique to Canada I believe.
I've never seen it anywhere in the US or in any other country.
Substitutes???? Why would you do that.
You need the real deal or nothing.
