Why are female members of Jehovah witness often cut their hair but it is prohibited in the bible?

Yes, They ‘re not implementing it. Their religion is half true and half lies that’s why they come up with all this excuses. Pls. to all JW’s wake up. don’t twist the verses of the bible just to fit to your belief.

The bible does not prohibit a woman from having her hair cut. Instead, a Christian woman is merely reminded that hair somewhat longer than a typical man's can be a "glory to her" in helping to define her femininity in a manner than pleases God and Christ.

The scriptures you mention were referring to spending the majority of one's time on extensive hair doing. Then, in the ancient times, it took hours on end to get their hair done a certain way and to fix themselves up. That time would have been better speant serving God, and preaching his good news.

But there is a scripture that says a woman's hair is her glory, but it did not say to cut it.

Even though you may not spend hours on end doing your hair, but how many hours are you spending spreading the good news like Jesus commanded his followers to do? Just something for you to think about.

And as I realize the scripture you might be referring to, it was shameful BACK THEN for anyone to cut their hair. It was shameful for men to shave. It was shameful to go to the bathroom in your house - they were to go outside the city and dig a hole. As the bible holds a lot of great principles - we are not to get all caught up in our appearance and be egotistical maniacs who only live to decorate ourselves. In that I concur. The point was/is for our focus to be on God and Jesus.

As far as the plastic surgery vs. tattoo's - I don't know who you know - but as far as I've read, both of those are considered "conscious decisions" meaning - to each his own.

Here, he is speaking of women to adorn themselves with modesty and well-arranged dress, but when he states not to wear very expensive garb and etc., that is the principle of not arranging yourself to any extreme measures or things that would draw undue attention.

my question to johovah witnesses is why is it ok to get plastic surgery and alter your body becuase of self doubt and low self esteem, but it's not ok to get a tattoo? both permantly mark the body and change it.
