Unless he is working under the table the company he works for - not matter how small or big - has 20 days to file his social security number with the state that he is working in. If they don't they face some pretty big fines. I would find out what company he is working for, call the state child support unit (if that is who she is getting help with her support from), report it and see what happens. Worse case scenario is getting a lawyer (you can call legal aid and get a free lawyer based on income and need - just make sure you do before he does - they are not allowed to give free lawyers to both parties). Sometimes you really have to keep on top of things yourself. I have had to with my ex and I have gotten more of a response than the state has. Good luck.

You can always hire a private investigator. How is the State not able to run his SSN and tell he is working? Is he working under the table so to speak? If he is, then he is a coward in my opinion. Just another one who can lay down and make a baby.. but not take care of it. (NOT bashing Men at all..fully realize women do it too).. If the State is unable to prove he is working.. nine times out of ten you won't be able to do it either (on line). Hire a private investigator.. or do a little surveillance yourself. Take pictures or video tape him in a work situation. Once you have proof.. take it straight to the child support or lawyers office. What a jerk he is.. Best of luck to you and your girlfriend.
