Need to know Virginia laws please help?
My sons best friends girlfriend is pregnant, her mother is pushing her towards abortion, heres the thing, she is 4 months alone, this is not legal is it? can some one have an abortion in Virginia this far along, the 2nd trimester, i have put it some calls and everyone says the father, my sons friend has no rights here, not even at 4 months? what can i advise him, his parents have thrown him away he lives mostly with us, he understands they are too young to have children but wants adoption to be investigated, because she is so far along, he was just told about pregnancy 2 days ago
thank you for answers, just for the record and future people answering I am pro life, this whole think is very emotional for me, i am having a very hard time with it, and so are my children, the girl says she does not want an abortion, but has been confined to her home, with 3-4 adults bullying her, she has called my home 4-5 times crying asking for my help, but i am not her parent, and do not know how i can help, i called some local pro life groups and they say she must leave the home on her own and when mother calls police and claims run away she can explain why and get help that way, these are not my children although we are the only family the boy has, so i can only offer advise

Call Planned Parenthood in your local area. They have great resources regarding both adoption and abortion and can counsel your son's friends to make the decision that sits right with both of them. 20 weeks (i.e. about 5 months) is the latest that abortions are generally permitted (constitutionally).

The father has no rights until the baby is born. An abortion at 4 months is legal in Virginia, if I am not mistaken.
