Does anyone know how to begin filing for a legal separation?

I don't want to use a lawyer and I live in Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

Please, serious answers only. No more like folks from javelin. Of course we have courthouses, I just don't want to get there and not have everything I need to file. I'm looking for advice, not sarcasm.

Update 2:

Sorry, that should read 'no more from folks like javelin'. I can't afford a lawyer because of circumstances and don't want to wait until I find a legal aid lawyer. That can take a while. There isn't much to fight about, he wants it, he can have it as long as I'm rid of him.

I'm not sure why you don't want to use a lawyer. If you are both agreeable, it won't be expensive. If you aren't in agreement, then you definitely need one. Either way, a lawyer will protect your interests. It sounds to me like you aren't very familiar with the law, so this might be something to reconsider. Good luck

I don't know any Canadian laws on this... this is probably a good place to ask though. I don't know how legal the seperation would be unless you use an attorney though, sorry. Usually, it takes a lawyer and money, just like with a divorce.

Here in the US we have these places called courthouses. They do all sorts of cool legal stuff there. Here in the US I'd just go down to the courthouse and ask the clerk of the court how to preceed. Too bad you live in Canada, I doubt they have anything like this up there.
