Update 3:

its not that serious...nothing life threatening or law breaking its not a big deal just wondering if it was possible

use a router to mask your email ip address to the novice pc user, but there is nothing that cant be traced by a pro. so dont think by using it you can steel or hack others computers and be clear from the law because you are not.

I'm not much of an expert, so all I can tell you is to go to a pace such as a school or internet cafe and create an email address. Then send it from that computer. Remember not to include any revealing information. Do not use your own computer, that destroys the purpose, or a library's, because you may have to put your library card number in before logging on. That gives whoever trying to trace you an opportunity to find you.

Remember, you can't ever be too safe. If you're trying to make a bomb threat, wastch out.

I guess I'd have to ask what you mean by they "can't be traced". Basically anything you do, with enough effort/clearance, can be traced. Web sites like the ones that you are probably talking about guarantee that, besides mandated otherwise by the government, they can hide any means of identifying you, since everything is handled through their servers. So unless you are doing something illegal in your email, you should be fine.

    Hi,

    1. if you were sending a very very very dangerous email, the FBI can track you down no matter what you do

    2. most people can't find your ip address, and the people who can are advance enough so that they would find it even if you hided it, don't forget, the webistes you use to send an anonymous email still can be traced

that IP handle is probable the source IP of the message, you may prefer to grant the entire header for me to totally grant you the information even with the undeniable fact that. yet whilst its a yahoo mail handle its probable the ip handle of the gateway device for the yahoo mail provider which you utilize.

They all record your address so you can still be traced when you carry out whatever illegal act you intend.
