Obese and seriously motivated,...does it really even matter???
Will my body be any better visually in the end? Of course I am doing this because I want to be healthy, live longer and be here for my grandbabies, someday. But, have I screwed up my body so badly that my body can't bounce back and be pretty again?
I am a very obese. I am 28 mom of 3 huge babies(1 over 10#). I have never been a small person, but an average size 14 just 10yrs ago. and now I am a 24/26. I WAS at 308lbs. but currently at 275. I really did not work very hard to achieve that weight loss,...just just what I ate in half. Now I am going a gym and plan to go Mon-Fri. and work my butt off. I have met with a personal trainer a couple times to learn the proper exersises for me and I will follow his plan. Will my cellulite get better(i know it wont all go away without surgery)? Will my disgusting belly fat go(not really at my waistline...but 3 inches below my belly button area)? OR has my skin been strethched to the max for just too long? Supplements?Topical treatments?
When I was a size 14 I weighed 160. I just want to be down to a 18 again and I KNOW that I can do it. I have the desire now that I have already lost a bit,...I want to lose more.
Thank you so much for your help!

It's never too late to take your health under control. You see success stories all the time from people of all ages and walks of life. It can be a challenge, no doubt, to make changes to the lifestyle and to make time for it, but most people who are successful found ways of accomplishing it. The trick is to incorporate it into your life somehow, rather than just add it on.
Changes can be the hardest aspect of it - changing bad habits, getting others to support you in the changes, maybe having to get out of the comfort zone. I personally have found that making gradual but certain changes really helped me make them and stick with it - going outright cold turkey is often a recipe for failure.
I hope your personal trainer is also outlining a diet to fit your fitness goals. A good personal trainer is as much an educator of fitness and nutrition as they are just showing you how to do the exercises.
As long as the weight loss is gradual and you work on keeping your skin conditioned, it should shrink also. Cellulite will also be reduced as you reduce your overall bodyfat levels. The body is an amazingly adaptive machine, so it's just a matter of manipulating the adaptations to fit your needs. I personally have known people who went from being fairly obese to being fitness models, so I know it can be done, it's just a matter of how badly you want it.
Good luck!

First of all it is good that you have a positive attitude, but the first step in getting a healthy looking body is to lose the weight first. If you crash diet then you are likely to have lose skin. However; if you set a diet and follow it no matter what with an exercise plan you can, lose weight steadily enough that your body adjusts. My husband was 285 2 months ago and now he is 255, i was 247 and now I am 221.4 We are both on 1800 low carb calorie diets. and we exercise every night. 1-3 miles. just walking.
You can go to a search engine and put in 1800 calorie diet, and it will give you examples of things you can eat, and at the grocery store get everthing low fat, lite, wheat bread, wheat noodles, supplements dont really work you just have to stick to it. This is what our meals looked like yesterday, and we weigh ourselves daily at the same time everyday.
Breakfast:
1 cup of peach oatmeal
1 cup of lite yogurt
1 light cheese stick
8 oz of OJ
Lunch:
Grilled ham and cheese on wheat bread
17 sun chips
orange
Tea
Snack #1:
Low calorie granola bar (you can get these in chocolate chip, oatmeal raisen, cookies and cream etc.) and they are only 90 calories
Dinner:
3 oz of lean cut boneless pork chop
1 medium baked potatoe with 1 teaspoon of low fat light butter
1/2 cup of green beans
1 cup of fresh fruit
Salad with 1 tablespoon of light ranch dressing
Snack #2
3 cups of low carb, calorie, sodium popcorn
peanut butter and jelly sandwich on wheat or rye bread.
We average anywhere from 300-400 calories per meal. And exercise before snack #2 at least 5 days a week we do it 7 days a week.
As far as your skin, some of it will go back but others can be surgically put back, but he will ask that you lose weight first. Good Luck!! It really does work!!

Unfortunately the stretched skin won't bounce back to the way it was before. For me the best thing to loose the weight was running, but if that is not your thing you need to find something that will keep you moving... something that you enjoy. I also took up dancing and went dancing almost every night... but this came with a huge price tag with club entry costs! So... the gym has been the more sensible solution... You can even walk... walk walk walk... then move on to more power walking.. progress to a steady jog and next thing you know... you could possibly be running. If you have babies... then take them out for walks with you. Strap them into that stroller and get going.
Cellulite did get better for me, but I didn't have much. Just remember to do cardio & weights... those two will help tone and firm as you keep loosing so you won't have as much loose skin.
Best of luck to you... I know it is not the easiest thing to do... I speak from experience! ;-) But we just gotta keep on moving... ;-)

Walk one mile per day to start. Increase to two miles in two weeks. GO TO GYM, WORKOUT WITH FITNESS MACHINE FIVE MINUTES TO START. Select four different exercises on machine with 15 pounds of resistance to start.
Go through the four twice. Do 5 repetitions with each. Two weeks you will increase time to 10 minutes and repetions to eight. Then you will increase at your chosen pace. These will not be hard and you will not get discouraged, because you will enhance your weight loss tremendously. Pulling for you. Bill
