California is one of the 5 largest states in the Union, therefore have quite a few electorial votes?

So why are we essentially give the middle finger by political canidates of both parties? Don't our votes mean anything to them?

Update:

I feel we are getting the finger because neither party comes here to...court us, so to speak. Shouldn't the canidates be even trying to get California voters to pick them?

It's a big, expensive state to campaign in. It's virtually a slam dunk for the Dems statewide. So the Dems take it for granted, the Repubs write it off and both spend their time and resources in more contested states.

California is THE largest state & therefore has the most electoral votes (& convention delegates). In what way are you getting the finger?
