Should Religion and personal beliefs interfere with the workplace?
Further to my previous question:

Should someone's religious and/or personal beliefs interfere with the work they perform. Even if they took the job, knowing that they would be required to do something that was against their belief.
Bigirv - looks at my profile and you will see that I am not a nurse of any sort. Read the question - perhaps follow the link. You might then be able to give a reasonable answer.

The following actually happened.
I had an employee under my supervision who was of the Jewish faith. He came to me and wanted both Christmas and Hanukkah off as religious holidays (with pay).
Of course, I said - "One or the other, not both." He was offended and argued that Christmas was a paid holiday in the union contract. I reminded him that Hanukkah wasn't and that maybe he should file a grievance and get Hanukkah included, or, compromise: Take Hanukkah off as a paid holiday in place of Christmas.
He took Christmas off with pay and took vacation time for Hanukkah.
The point? Whatever work rules an employer has in place that were revealed in advance must be honored by the employees. If they want to keep the job, the only way around it is to talk to the boss and negotiate a compromise.

No absolutely not and it is illegal to ask such questions in interviews. If they took the job knowing they would have to perform something that they did not believe in, then I think they need to do the job no matter what their belief (well, maybe not hit man or something on that order).

We must work to the utmost of our abilities, but we should not take a job that will go against the will of God. But, if a temptation comes upon you at the workplace, (Remember Joseph and Potiphar's wife) we must stand tall for the lord, even if we lose our job.

Religion is a personal preference that should remain personal. No one else should have to make special concessions for you because of something that you believe in outside of the office. Unless your job is directly related to the business that religion is, don't bring it to work.

You sound like an OR nurse who's being asked to circulate in an abortion room. Get off it. Either do the job you were hired and being paid to do or get out.
