Colour stripping hair??
Ive dyed my hair blonde loads of times in the past 4 years... and now its "dark blonde" which is my natural colour...its kind of fading into a gingery brown and i dont like it.
Will getting my hair stripped of colour take it back to my natural colour? Or will it just take it back to the blonde that i dyed it before?
And does it damage your hair badly ? (my hairs in quite bad condition as it is) And what do they actually do?
(i aksed the hairdresser to dye my hair my natural colour...but because its blonde underneth then its fading now and going ginger!)
Ive never bleached my hair.

hi, the only way you can have your hair stripped is by going the hairdressers were they will use a product called effisor, this will strip everything out your hai and turn it into a orange colour, they will then add colour to it.
The effisor is very damaging to your hair and not recommended so be careful.

Hi no hairdresser will strip you hair if its not in heathly condiditon I have dont the same as you and no hairdresser has even mentioned about stripping my hair colour. The thing is I dont think they can do it if we have bleached our hair and then dyed it as there is no colour in the hair to go back to.
If we had just dyed it with say a brown over our natural hair colour then they might be able to do it then but not if we have bleached it a few times.
I think if we were to go and ask if we could have it done they wouldnt as it would cost a fortune as I have read that it takes a few goes to get out all the hair colour and that it will then have to be redyed over. So depending on what hair colour you get once its stripped out then it depends on what colour they dye over it with ans weather it will be dark and then we wont like it. Plus our hair will be badly damaged worse than it was in the first place as it must have some type of chemical in it to get rid of the colour.
In the long run I think its just best to try and get the hair in good condition and then only dye it with semi permenant hairdyes and let the hair grow out then once its all out. Go whatever colour you want to go..

I used to have blonde highlights done in my hair every 2-3 months. I got a half head of highlights done one afternoon, the most I'd ever had, and I found that damaged it terribly.
No matter what I did, I couldn't return my hair to its former glory. I got it cut a bit shorter and dyed it a dark reddish/blondish brown.
Once that colour faded, I stopped dying or highlighting whatsoever - 8 months with no colour in my hair, just natural highlights from the sun, and my hair looks FAB! :)
Hair stripping does what it says: it strips the hair of ALL colour. So yes, your hair WILL go back to its natural colour. Hair stripping is extremely damaging for your hair, even more so than dying, so if I were you I would avoid stripping it all together and just cut off all your split ends, then dye your hair as close as possible to the natural colour, that way, when it grows out, it will look natural.
If you are content with your natural colour, try and go for at LEAST 6 months without any colour in your hair at all. Your hair will seriously love you for it. It needs time to recuperate after all that ammonia and peroxide ;)
Also, make sure you're using the right kind of shampoo/conditioner for your hair. I can't tell you what kind to use; ask your hair stylist. If you're already using salon shampoo, keep it up! If not, I recommend the Wella Biotouch line :)

Because I can't see you in person this is so hard to see what is actually best for your skin tone and hair of course. It sounds like you or your colorist is not being very careful with the highlight process. Since you are fairly light to start, the highlighting process does not need to be so harsh. I find that most clients tend to over highlight there hair over the course of just one year- much less 4. If the highlights looked more natural, not to "blond all over" would you like that? This would require someone who knows how to low light well. Most colorist I find do not, so shop around. You will need to trim you hair, recondition prior to service and stay out of the sun too much this summer. If you want to go back to your natural that is fine too. I would suggest doing that at the end of the summer however. From years of experience if you do this suddenly, during Summer especially, you might freak out- even if it looks fantastic. You must be ready for such a change. Talk with a good colorist and bring photos. Together you can come up with a good plan. Best of luck.

i think because of the bleach it wont go back to your natural colour but it might be close. i had bleach in my hair a couple of years ago so i let it grow out a little and went to the salon and asked them to dye it to match my natural colour or as near as they can get it. that might be the best option its not great for your hair but its better than stripping. also invest in a great hair mask whatever you do they really make a difference

1. it will not take it all the way back to the blond you had before. it will take some out, but not all.
2. yes. it damages your hair badly.
3. who is 'they'? professional stylists?
we would probably use a 5 - 10 volume developer (just enough to 'break' the old color) and hilite it fairly heavily.
on the hair that is not being hilited i would use a light ash color to blend in the ginger to make it more of a neutral shade.
and give you a good (at least 2 inches) cut.

if you've bleached your hair, then it will not return to it's natural color.
the reason being is you've already stripped all the pigment out of your hair - that's what bleaching is. It's taking every single color out of your hair.
The best way I recommend getting your natural color back is dying it as close as possible with a permanent dye(for me, that was difficult, seeing as I'd been dying my hair for 8 years and forgot my natural color!) and letting your hair grow. Hopefully, if the dye you picked is close enough, then the roots growing out won't show.
Hair dying is a dangerous (and addictive) game.

for me it depends upon the girl. Like I might see a girl with black hair and think she is totally hot but see a girl with blond hair that is meh and vice versa.
