Who LOVES their town? And Why?

Do you think you could ever like another town as much as yours? What is the best thing about it? Is there anything you don't like about it?

Is it a good place to visit? Are people friendly to out of towners or do they wish they would stay away?

And let me know where you are from please! I may want to visit there...

I think my town is great. It's small, very small, but still close to bigger towns. There is a small downtown section and it's close to the beach. We also have lots of little restaurants and a great steak house. The town is pretty old, lots of history and neat buildings. The old people here have great stories. Oh yeah, and we have a water tower too, which I think is neat.

I wish though, there were a few more businesses downtown, and also that more english speaking people were here. I also wish there was a little lake or even a creek. There is a creek bed, lol, but no water. I live in Guadalupe, California

I was born and raised in the Bay Area (Walnut Creek) and I love the Bay Area but then I came down to San Diego 6 years ago and love this place just as much, although the Bay Area is where I'm from and no city can compare to your hometown where all your family and real close friends are. I'm torn, I miss being around family and all of my friends have graduated college and moved back to the Bay Area and I kind of want to move back home but I love living by the beach so much and the people here are great.

I love the weather in San Diego, it's very mild and warm. Never too hot or too cold, not too humid, and rarely rains. The beaches are great, the natural scenery is beautiful, and there is always something to do here. Even though its a big city it still has a small town feel to it kind of, at least compared to the BAy Area which is so much bigger. I also like how it's close to Mexico (15 min south of downtown), close to LA and Orange County and only a 4.5 hour drive to Vegas. The people here are great; very friendly and laid back. Most people here are transplants from all over the country so you meet all types of people. ANd since most of us are from out of town originally and SD is a big tourist destination, the locals here are very friendly and inviting to tourists, as long as you respect our city and don't trash it, which some people do b/c they get too drunk at the beach since we're the only place that allows alcohol at the beach in CA. But overall that's not really a problem.

Some things I don't like about SD is that it is a little too conservative, but overall it's pretty moderate just a little on the cheap side. I wish it had better public transit and that the Trolley system went to places near the beach. Also it's downtown is really nice but wish it was a little denser and more urban like San Francisco's. Also they need to build a bigger border crossing and update and modernize it. For being the busiest border crossing in the world it sure is small and outdated and the lines to get back into the US from Tijuana can get up to 2-3 hours long and hurts the economy here.

But overall I love San Diego, it's such a great city. You should visit during the summer when the weather and beaches are the best. The Bay Area is also a great place to live and to visit.

I HATE my town. It is all factories and the houses are very close together. The only thing I do like abvout it, is that only 10 minutes from my house is a park, track, pool, tennis court, and field. I live in FP, IL (I abreviated the town).

Well, the good thing is that I'm moving. We already bought a house in Medinah, IL. It has the biggest golf course in the world, and its right next to my house! It feels like country near there, and not a lot of cars go on the main streets. Plus, the new house is huge! Oh yea...and 10 minutes from it is Woodfield Mall. It is the 4th biggest mall in the world, and the second in the U.S.!

I loath the town I am from. Miamisburg.Ohio. It is so redneck and they normally are not very nice to visitors. The whole town is nothing but static and it seems like everybody is on drugs. I believe the losers in that town are responsible for my sisters drug overdose. She would still be alive today if it wasn't for those blood sucking losers. If you are new to that town they will welcome you and stab you in the back

That would be Rothesay on the Isle of Bute in Scotland, it's on the west coast of Scotland and it's a nice island with under 8000 people, just so laid back and beautiful scenery, it's in the gulf stream so gets good weather in the summer and even has palm trees :)
