Contact lenses?
I heard there is a product out there called Clean and Clear that you can use on Acuvue 2 disposable lenses? Is this true and has anyone tried it. I wear contacts and throw them out every two weeks, this seems like a waste of money if I can use this product and make them last longer and not make the eye doctors richer and richer. Thanks!

If the product you are referring to is called Clear Care, it is a very good peroxide cleaner for contacts, great for people who are prone to deposits and lipid buildup on you lenses....HOWEVER, over time, the oxygen poors in the contact lenses fail to transmit oxygen no matter how or what you use to clean them, so for the AV 2 lens, the life span is about 2 weeks. After that, the amount of oxygen that the eye gets is comprimised and in the long run it is not safe for the eye. There are lenses like the purevision and focus night and day that transmit much much more oxygen and are better for the health of the eye AND they are monthly lenses, but they are twice as expensive so you really aren't saving money. Sorry!

disposing of your lenses has nothing to do with making your Dr. richer. You have to throw them out every two weeks b/c the lens looses hydration and protein deposits build on the lenses. The clean and clear will help the lenses feel fresher but it doesn't increase their lifespan. Besides the mark up on contacts isn't as high as you think, and if you think your paying too much do some price shopping. There is a law (The fairness to contact lens consumers act) that your Optometrist must release your contact lens RX as long as it is current. (within one year).

I put on touch lenses for the duration of the day and glasses the very first thing within the morning and at night time.My eye healthcare professional advised me that dressed in glasses, even slightly bit,is well for the eyes due to the fact that they get recreation.
