TO LEARN WHO YOU REALLY ARE.
and then.
TO BE IT.
and the help others do the same.
because we are all ONE we are all connected
sort of like...
flames in the Sun and the sun represents God
separate ...yet equal and bright
the purpose of life is to realize your full potential and then stretch out your wings... and become it.

I happen to finally believe in God, so I believe it is to show God that you are good enough so that your soul can go to Heaven and reside with God after your body dies. I like being alive, I hope there are malls in Heaven, but we don't know what that state will be like.
You can examine all the thinkers who have wrestled with that question so that you can arrive at your own conclusions, but I bet after you go thru that process, you are going to decide like I did. And that is because there are 2 ways to come to that conclusion.
One is that you have a personal experience and sense God. I know people who have done that, very powerful stories, those. I'm not quite so emotional a person, or something. I wouldn't call it sophisticated, but maybe I'm a little ;more worldly, not quite so believing in the senses or quiet enough to let God speak to me that way.
The other way is thru logic, although i don't consider myself really logical. It's just that thru education, esp. biology and botany, when you find out just how complex the human body is, hey, just a leaf on a tree, you are renderless almost speechless. You just know it's not random because form and function are too just plain elegant. And then you know we are not random, we didn't evolve. Nothing evolves in nature, instead, things fall back to their elements. They certainly don't get more complex. How absurd that idea of evolution is. We didn't come from a one-cell in the ocean baloney. Sure you can have slight changes in DNA, but DNA didn't start spiraling from a soup in the ocean and a spark of lightning hitting the ocean. that makes no logical sense.
So if we are not random, then what?
I think God looked down, got disgusted with us dumb bunnies who still were not listening, and sent Jesus to show us what God wants, how he wants us to act so that we please God and so we get the privilege of living with God eternally after we die. Doesn't that just make sense? Why not send Jesus? We certainly, well most people, couldn't seem to get it from those 10 commandments. We needed a model and so Jesus volunteered.
That's my opinion. You will have to figure it out for yourself, but you are off to a good start because you are questioning. That means you will see what other people think and you will weigh their opinions and figure out from their opinions joined t your own observarions what it is all about.
And life is wonderful. Don't just wonder about it, live it. It's fun! And it was meant to be fun. (of course there is garbage, too, God has to see if we are worthy so he wants to see if we can be gracious with all the aggravations, but life is also just fun for itself. Enjoy!)

Life just is. It has no intrinsic, or built in meaning of it's own.
All the meaning that life will ever have is the meaning that you give to it.
Looks like its up to you.
