What are your thoughts on a Chevrolet Equinox?

Actually a nice vehicle. More car than truck as are most new 'crossover' vehicles. While looking at the Equinox you should also see the Pontiac Torrent and the Suzuki XL7. All three are basically the same vehicle built on the same assembly line. BETCHADIDNTKNOWTHAT!

It's the same as the Pontiac Torrent, right down to the gauges, and the Suzuki XL-7. Shop these three brands for interest rate specials and see where you can get in the best deal between the Pontiac and the Chevy. (Suzuki's don't necessarily suck, they just have less stores that fix them.) Also, one vehicle that would be 3 times as reliable and is actually very nice is the new Honda CRV. You may want to check that out. Oh! Last one, the Hyundai Veracruz. Surprisingly luxurious for the price.

The pushrod V6 engine is made in China. The transmission is an Aisin Warner automatic made in Japan. I'll buy a Chinese-made name-brand DVD player, but I won't buy a name-brand car with a Chinese-made engine.

I prefer the look of the nox's twin, the Pontiac Torrent. I still wouldn't buy it.

I have not owned one, but I did sit in one. It looked a bit cheaply put together on the inside. But the lady I know that owns it really likes hers. Best thing is to test drive and research. Read Consumer reports, Car and Driver, Road and Track and other magazines that do car reviews.
