If you have never served in the military, why are you trying to answer questions in here?

Please don't answer questions about the military if you've never served. You don't have a clue about what you're talking about. "A friend of my sister's ex boyfriend's brother had this happen to him" doesn't cut it.

Update:

I stand corrected. Some military historians and spouses of military members have valuable information to pass on; however, most posters are just trolls.

31 years active duty, served from Nam through Desert Storm, my father did WWII and my son also did Desert Storm. Haven't been shot at since Lebanon and I agree 110% with you. 99.99% of those who never served base their inputs on what they hear from others (which is usually wrong), newspaper columns which slant way to the left, President Bush haters and the false image of the military presented in many movies. Straight facts about the "real deal" can only come from those who have "walked the walk" and not from wannabes or military haters. I was first enlisted and became a senior NCO before becoming a commissioned officer and when I answer a question it comes from the experience of serving on both sides. Where does the answers of those who never served come from?

Some people might be familiar with military history without having served in the military. But if you are referring to questions pertaining to the military in regards to it's inner workings or deployment, then I have to agree with you. The best answers would come from veterans.

I must say I agree with you, for the most part. Perhaps a military spouse has enough knowledge to answer a few of them, too, eh?

Well I guess 26 years and 3 months in the Navy should qualify me to answer some questions, what do you think.

"Here say" and "someone I know said" doesn't count.

    What the question?

Keyboard Commandoes just love to get on here and complain.

The closest they've been to combat was in a comic book.

    Good luck with that!

People give stupid, uninformed answers in every category. I guess when you ask a question on yahoo answers, you've got to expect that, though.
