Nope. You don't have to leave the ship until you get back to Port Canaveral. If you get off the ship at Nassau, do not commit to a tour at the pier. We did that, and found you could walk to almost everything that we were driven to, for over $100. There is a water taxi to the Atlantis, or there are busses that go there. If you go to the straw market, do not pay the asking price for anything that they are selling.

And we always return to the ship for lunch. No sense in buying something that is already included. And I absolutely love the dining room. I never eat any meals at the Lido dining room.

No, you don't have to get off when the boat docks. As a matter of fact, the next time we go, we will not get off in the Bahamas. We've been there several times already and it will give us all a chance to do some things we didn't get a chance to do on the ship! As far as staying on a budget, you really only have to worry about paying for excursions and souvenirs while off the boat. So, if you go on Disneycruise.com you can see the prices of all their excursions and decide if they are something you'd like to do! Have a great trip!

Every cruise line ship takes you back to your starting port. But you can also leave it in every port if you wish. You have about 4-8 hours in every port where a cruise ship docks. That information is always published in a tourist agency where you're buying a ticket.

The only bad thing about staying on the boat at the port. They dont have as much going on at that time . the bright side is over half the ppl are off the boat at that time. No long waits at the elevator, pool is almost empty, etc.

No - you don't have to get off the boat if you do not want to. They will stop at Disney's private island though - and that's very nice - you should get off there.

it is never mandatory to get off the boat at the port, and most ships have on board activities to do when docked
