What level doea Kadabra evolve into Alakazam? Does it have to be traded to evolve?

I put a wild kadabra out for trade on the gts... No one wanted it, but when I brought it back home it evolved. So I didn't even have to trade it to anyone to get it to evolve... Also as soon as alakazam evolves in to kadabra you could evolve him. Nothing changes but his stats, and they get a little higher.

Kadabra evolves when you trade. I suggest to go around the world to trade by wi fi connection. A lot of people would trade a kadarba to evolve. Or if you have a friend trade it and trade it again.
