iTunes question?

We have 4 computers now and one of them had a big iTunes library where I buy songs for my iPod. I want the library to be on more than one computer. How do I do that? Also, what would happen if I plugged my iPod into the new empty iTunes library? Would it put songs into that library? All I need is some information on managing iTunes on more than one computer. Thanks! =]

When I purchase music from iTunes I copy them to my portable external hard drive and then I am able to put them on other computers. Do you have your iPod set to manually manage your music and to not sync with your iTunes? If you plugged your iPod into the new empty iTunes library and you have these settings nothing should happen to the music that is already on your iPod. the music on your iPod will not automatically transfer to another iTunes library. Thus the reason for the portable external hard drive. :-)

You should be able to download your purchased songs onto your other computers when you log into your iTunes account on those computers. If you plug your iPod into the empty iTunes library, all the songs off of your iPod will be deleted - the songs will not be transferred into your computer. I hope this helps.
