We are losing an average of 2.5 soldiers per day in Iraq. In 1968 we were losing an average of 46 solldiers.?
How many is too many? How many is enough? I know the answer, do you?
I tried to edit this question to say that in 1968 we were wasting 46 Americans per day in Vietnam. When will this madness stop?

We would lose less, if the Liberals stop saying they hate the troops, and America.
We never lost a war until Libs started protesting wars. Do you remember Vietnam? Good. Do you remember the present? Good, if you do. That's why, Honey. Folks fighting in wars, and when, told by their loved-ones (Americans), (who our soldier's fight for), that we hate you, you're a skank, aren't very happy, and they die, believing protesters hate them.
If we cheered for them, told them how we love them, like they deserve, few would die. Get it?
They have a job, saving our damn lives! NOW, SUPPORT THEM! TELL THEM THANK YOU! THAT IS YOUR JOB! DO IT!

One point I'd like to make here - comparing death rates between wars isn't a simple one to one ratio. People forget just how much medical technology has moved on - it's more telling to look at the casualty rate which in the case of Iraq has been comparitively high. Further this issue is clouded because the official casualty statistics don't count all casualties in combat or any non-combat casulties so the official rate looks lower than the actual rate of casualties that is occuring. Basicly put if you were using Vietnam era medical technology you'd probably be losing at least as many people a day as in Vietnam.

There have been Hawks and Doves in every US war from 1776 to the present day. The discourse is part of what makes the U.S. great.
The problem today is that in the information age, any rhetoric--no matter how well intented-- can be quickly turned into a weapon and used against us. That's on elittle fact that people on the left (and right for that matter) do not understand. Is war bad? Yes. Is it sometimes required? Yes.

Whatever it takes to keep this country free And whatever it takes to insure your right to sit there and put our country down. Our soldiers know it and are damn proud to be there. They know what they are fighting for. They are even fighting for you. Can you do less than support them? At least emotionally. Wear red on Fridays. Show them you do care.
