It's difficult to really know but apparently cinnamon is believed to be a uterine stimulant and isn't recommended in high doses during pregnancy because of this. I was very careful of what I ingested during my pregnancy (especially herbal teas) because everything that goes into your body interacts with it in some way. It's not always harmful, but better safe than sorry, in my opinion. The good news for you is that you were past your due date and your body and baby were both ready! Maybe the cinnamon just gave your body a little kickstart... Good luck with parenthood, I hope your little one is doing well!

Do a search for stuff like "cinnamon induce labour."

It does come up as a suggestion here and there...

"There are a few things you can try to induce labor naturally. Foods such as pineapple and eggplant have been suggested as labor inducers. Cooked in a yummy recipe, it's certainly worth a shot. Cinnamon tea made from cinnamon sticks steeped in hot water is another thing you can try..."

Zero evidence I can see that it works, but your mother isn't the only one who thinks it does.

    Hey,

You probably enjoyed sitting down with that cup of tea and relaxed and watched a bit of TV maybe...

When you stress and just want the baby out more than likely the baby will stay in there.

You have to be relaxed and let your body do what it wants.

I know it is hard being so far pregnant and nothing happening.

Remember that the due date is just an estimate.

Only 5% of babies come on their due date!

Good luck and enjoy your little bub!

If anything it was only because it relaxed you. The newest studies show that 2 or 3 caffeine containing beverages a day do not have any effect on a pregnancy.

chances are it didnt induce labor, the baby was just ready to come.... you were past your due date by a few days once they were born... i think either way you would have gone into labor
