Really depends on the question. If the kid can't convert grams to moles, I'd probably help,
but if they are like, "I need a list of ten nouns with three adjectives for each" or could you read this story and write two paragraphs, I'm like, forget it.
And then there was the wack job that kept saying "I'm a teacher and I lost my answer sheets, could you please help, and then list a bunch of questions.
BUT THE ONE'S I REALLY REALLY don't get are the one's like "what's the definition of sublimation" or "what's the capital of North Dakota"? In the time it takes to post the question, they could have typed it into the "SEARCH" window and gotten the answer. That's beyond lazy and into I don't even know what. (ok the word is stupid, but I was trying to be nice lol)

When I see a list of questions, I will not answer them but will point the person in the direction to find the answers. The purpose of homework is to learn something not to have it done for you. Same with math questions I will offer an example and explain that, but just giving an answer no. I am always suspicious of those that ask by stating easy or simple homework question. If it is easy or simply why is it posted here? That always seems to me to say, I was just too lazy to do it myself.

I agree with Bolivar to some extent. Some of the questions are just inane and I do not know why people take the time to even type them. I think they want the recognition and the fact that somebody will anwer them, thereby pleasing the questioner.
To answer homework questions on simple algebra is something they should figure out on their own. Howerver, giving guidance as to procedure and process will be helpful.

I too, tire of reading peoples homework/quiz/test questions. Some are so blatently obvious, like multiple choice questions that I don't even look at them. For those, I say good luck. Others however, I give a mild rebuke and then give some hints to get them started. This, I hope, will help those truly in need without actually contributing to cheating.
Great question.

I had to bust my whatever to do my work so why should I do someone Else's? Don't mind helping someone, like finding a source, a book, reference but it would have to be limited.
When I was in college I did all my work,, all my research, all my papers except for one time. I was really loaded down with school work and my regular job. I had to do a paper on Billy Budd and couldn't get the hang of the question. Finally I asked my wife if she would do it for me. Wow, did she let me have both barrels. She understood my/our situation and agree but with the warning it was the last time. And it was. I actually felt guilty about turning it and was disappointed with myself.

Actually, we should not do the problems; only provide some guidance re how the problem should be approached and perhaps some help as to what equations are involved, and some hints re what principles are involved.

I dont think it's counterproductive to provide guidelines on how to approach a problem without doing it in full.
