Jeep Wrangler question?

I need to install a windshield channel on my 1995 Wrangler. I need some help:

1) Is a Windshield channel the same as a Windshield retainer?

2) What are the steps (and tools needed) in order to properly install a windshield channel?

Thanks for the help.

Update:

I would like to install a Pavement Ends Sun Cap Plus on my Jeep. It calls for a winshield channel. I have a Pavement Ends Windshield Retainer Kit. Is this the windshield channel they are talking about?

The Windshield Channel and Windshield Retainer are often interchangeable terms. Pavement Ends now has installation instructions on their website for Windshield Channels (they didn't in the past). The Windshield Channels are manufactured by Bestop. For a 1995 Wrangler the part # is a 51209-01. The #51209-01 does fit with a Pavement Ends Sun Cap Plus (#41524-XX).

Not sure what the retainer clip is, but a windshield channel is a strip of metal that runs along the top of the windshield. The leading edge of the bikini top runs thru the channel, which is screwed into the windshield frame. Should be fairly easy to install with an electric drill and a screwdriver.

I've never dealt with this vendor, so I can't recommend them personally, but they sell what you're looking for.

The windshield retainer is the same thing as the channel. It is just wear a soft top, bikini top, etc secures in the front.
