Egg allergies and coffee??

I have a new egg allergy. Some of the "do not eat" lists have coffee on it. Some just say cappaccinos and latees, because eggs are used in the foamy topping. Is this why coffee is listed? Can I have a regular iced coffee with some milk in it??? I would appreciate help from people who know from experience, not just guesses. thanks!

Coffee is from the plant kingdom and eggs are from the animal kingdom so you're okay

it is just the coffee toppings in this case

the website foodallergy.org also states that this is also true for some bar drinks having egg in them

if you go to the website foodallergy.org then click on "common food allergens" (3rd from top), then click on "egg" (on the left) you will see some add'l info that might be benficial to you - you can order a wallet-sized card that list all the various not-so-obvious egg scientific and technical names - it only costs a couple of bucks and would be a worthwhile investment for you

    best of luck

Some coffees are "egg washed". This is a process which uses egg to remove deposits from the coffee. Some wines are also egg washed. I m in the process of learning which brands are safe (I.e., not egg washed). Sorry I can t give more information than that.

It is traditionally a meals intolerance. You are fortunate that you'll tolerate one egg or a cup of espresso. I can best tolerate a million/four of an egg according to day. I can not drink espresso both, however I established allergic to it.
