CHEAP hotel and Air Fare to Vegas!!?

Where can I get both Cheap Hotel and Cheap Airfare to Vegas, plan on going mid July....Anyone have any frequent flyer miles to spare...?

Update:

I'm coming from Houston, and to me cheap is less than 300 for my trip. It's for a friend and I so total 600 air and hotel.

Cheapest hotel on the strip: The Tropicana...book almost anytime.

Cheapest airfare: Southwest Airlines...book about 2 weeks in advance.

Cheapest "stay"...choose any hotel stay from Sunday night through Thursday night and you'll get the best rates. The rates increase for Friday night through Saturday night stays.

Source(s): I'm going to Vegas in June myself and researched all this online. I've been to the Tropicana and it's a nice low-end hotel with a great swimming pool.

Well if you really want cheap, anywhere downtown is the cheapest. But, if you want cheap and somewhat decent, I'd try for the Stratosphere, it borders downtown & the strip. The Imperial Palace, decent and has a great location. The Tropicana..it sits on the end of the strip. It has a monorail that connects to the Exaclibur, MGM & NY NY. Bally's might be another option.

For airfaire Southwest airlines or Transair ATA. If your times are flexible Priceline would be an option. You can bid on your prices.

We've spent time over this past weekend looking at vacation packages for Vegas for end of July. We specifically want to stay at the MGM Grande and found a package for $514...Friday - Monday (peak times). There were other packages a few hundred dollars below that and several hundred above that. I looked on both travelocity.com and orbitz.com.

To clarify, that was $514/each person and flying out of Detroit. I don't know where you are or how many are going, so can't give you specifics...but again, I suggest you use the same websites as I did and see what kind of info you can find out.

if you are looking for cheap rooms on the strip go to the hotels web site to book them. the are the lowest around. as for as air fares it depends on where you are coming from. I usuall use southwest, but this time used delta, from smaller local airport so I didn't have to travel as far to airport. plus getting through security wouldn't take as long.

DO NOT BOOK ANY PACKAGE TRIPS WITH TRAVEL AGENTS. with a computer you can do this on your own and save hundreds

    Where are you coming from?

Define "Cheap" I know of some places that charge $20 a night. I doubt you want to stay there though.

    Need more info.

Usually the Imperial is pretty cheap, it is right on the strip and the Monorail runs behind.
