friendship, honesty, and communications. in marriages that last for a life time, the couple never stop being best friends. they share everything with each other and they know how to laugh with each other and try to avoid doing the things that make makes the other angry. with true friendship, comes a honesty that the two know that they cannot find anyone else. communication is vital with any type of relationship, the moment that you stop talking to each other, the moment the relationship starts dying.

My lady and I were married the day after high school graduation 45 years ago. We loved each other then and we love each other now, but we both are aware of the fact that "love" changes over the years. The driving passion we both had has mellowed into something much more comfortable. The one major factor in our relationship, as in most long lasting relationships, is the respect that we had for each other has never changed. We both firmly believe that respect for each other is the key to a long and happy marriage.

Compatible pheromones at the beginning.
Surprises and thoughtful moments later on.
Keeping your mate a little off guard, wondering "What could you possibly do next, even after all this time?" That would be good things as a surprise, not mean things.
Make love as often as you can. It creates a chemical bond.
Good luck.
