Windows 98 doubt !?

When we right click on the windows 98 desk top, we get a menu, in which "LINE UP ICONS" is one of the items. But when we click on that, nothing happens. Why is it so ? (I Know most of the people would have migrated to windows xp/ windows vista, but still this doubt has been in my mind for the past several years ) !

That command is designed to organize all the icons on your desktop in a grid formation. If your icons are already like that, nothing will happen. Move some of those icons around the screen, run that command again, and you should see something.

Left click on an Icon and drag it to the middle of the Desktop. Then try the "Line Up Icons" be sure they not locked. I think it "lock icons" I not remember, but, look at everything and you figure it out.

Line up icons means that it will put all icons onto the left hand column from up to down. If you already have them there, it will not do anything.

All that means is the icons on your desktop, like my computer, etc. If you move them around right now and they are scattered, you can choose that icon to line them up.,

All that does is realign the desktop icons. If they are already aligned you will see no difference.

try to drag the icons here and their and then try clicking on "LINE UP ICONS".

If I remember correctly, it will re-arrange those icons.
