Which Clinique products are animal-free?
It is very important to me not to have cows' brain an insects in my lipstick, cows' ligaments and fat and fish in my cream, squid ink in my mascara, and animals' genital excrement (obtained by killing or whipping an animal) in my fragrance...
I contacted Clinique customer services and asked for a list of products/ingredients I should avoid. I got the following reply:
"Thank you for your interest in Clinique. Very few animal derived raw materials are found in Clinique products.
Animal ingredients are used only when their efficacy cannot be duplicated by any other source of ingredients. When an ingredient can be obtained from either animals or plants, we
use the plant derived material.
Please be assured of our best attention."
How much is "very few" exactly? Was I really given their best attention?
Do you know for sure of any animal-free Clinique products?
Please help!
UPDATE
After they told me there are VERY FEW products with animal ingredients, I have asked them (again) if they can tell me which are these products, and they replied:
"As you may know, our product line is quite extensive. Therefore, in order to respond to your inquiry regarding animal ingredients, we need to know the exact name and shade (if applicable) of the product(s) which you use or would be interested in using. We will then consult our laboratories and share our findings with you."
So, they either have no good idea what is in their products and need ages to find that out, or they are trying to mask how large the number of products with animal ingredients really is!

I used to use clinique a long time ago but I went to a Mary Kay party with a friend and fell in love with their line. I investigated further and found out Mary Kay recieved the best rating from animal rights groups on their cosmetics. Not only do they not contain animal material they are not tested on animals either. I love them and they don't leave as much of a greasy film like clinique.

I thought Clinique was... you can go to there Web site and see. I know Revlon and Cover Girl is animal free. It should say on the back of the bottle that "No animals was harmed in making of this product." If it dont say that then it could have anmial testing done to it. But I'm happy that you care for animals too!

In 1986 an international group of animal protection organizations that includes HSUS formed the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). The coalition urges cosmetics and household products manufacturers to sign on to a “Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals” policy and agree to not conduct or commission animal tests or use any ingredient or formulation that is tested on animals. Companies portray the coalition’s “leaping bunny” logo on products as proof of their commitment. CCIC publishes a pocket-sized “cruelty-free” shopping guide [PDF] which can also be downloaded from its website.

Spam, have you ever heard the saying "the pot calling the kettle black"? How can you criticise the questioner on their grammar when your own is pretty rubbish.
QUOTE:
"well some is some for god's sake!
you seem so serious about it if you don't like it don't use it. simple as. i think you need to grow up too. you basically said in your question that perfume is made out of jizzum. get a life. oh and by the way, i think you also need to take up some grammar lessons. the apostrophe goes BEFORE the 's'. "
Didn't anybody ever teach you that sentences should start with a capital letter?
Your second sentence doesn't make sense & should probably be split either into two separate sentences or two clauses separated with a semi-colon (;).
And on your comment about the apostrophe - I'm assuming you're referring to the first sentence of the question. Didn't it occur to you that it could be brain or ligament belonging to more than one cow, in which case the apostrophe is in the correct place.

Clinique is owned by the Estee Lauder corp, and all lines that are owned my Estee Lauder are animal testing and product free. All lines include, Clinique, Estee Lauder, MAC, Perspectives, Origins, and others. but try researching some of the ingredients that you saw because some are practically animal fat.

I'm not sure about that, but I know that all Clinique products are tested on animals. They weren't a few months ago, but they've recently dropped their fixed cut off date

With those kinds of companies, you never can tell what animal products you are rubbing on your face.
I prefer to use the products that are vegan and announce their cruelty-free status right away. Besides, the more we support actual vegan companies, the more vegan companies can produce for us.

They maintain that they don't test on animals however what you're asking constitutes disclosing the ingredients of their products.
