How to start recycling at my church during services?

What is the best way to get people to recycle items at my church. Mostly drink bottles. Without it looking too tacky.

Get a Large Garbage can Line it with a trash bag for plastic bottles only. Make a speech and ask you preacher if you could barrow a moment of his/her time and tell him/her what it is you plan to do. In your speech talk about gobal warming and how if we recycle it will help our plant stop cutting down trees and instead recycling paper and other goods. Make sure you make a list of the pro's and Con's of recyclings. Make copies and pass them around and show everyone where to put their trash if they choose to recycle. If some people choose not to recycle do not let it get ytou down because the people you do get to recycle will help you help make a difference

place a recycling bin outside and put an announcement in the bulletin that it's there. Why do people have to bring bottles to church in the first place? Perhaps that should be in the bulletin as well.

Try to make it part of the Usher's Ministry to encourage people. A recycle bin at the exit was a great suggestion.

Ask your mullah, rabbi, reverend, pastor, priest, guru or whatever for permission to put a recycling bin at the exit to the church if folks have lots of recyclable plastic bottles.

Just don't expect your mullah, rabbi, reverend, pastor, priest, guru or whatever to take out the trash. Volunteer to do it yourself (and do it).

Does your church have a board? At my previous church, I prepare a suggestion which I provided the church board which consisted of the two pastors, elders, the church clerk and different ministry leaders. before I approached them, I recruited 2 church contributors I knew i had to be an component to this ministry. We named the ministry "the stable Samaritan Ministry" and our purpose replaced into to help 2 homeless shelters in our section--one replaced into for females and their infants and the different replaced into for infants. i'm no longer on the church however the ministry remains going sturdy. We have been given church contributors to donate issues the two shelters needed, which contain clothing, toiletries, tickets for public transportation. We had stable Samaritan Ministry days the place we invited audio device from the two shelters to proportion memories with the congregation. locate out what centers are needed on your community and flow from there. you are able to set up an after college application for youths. talk to different young infants on your church. talk on your pastor. in case you're in college, talk on your college friends, instructors. I wish you each and every and all the appropriate.

Maybe put a prayer list up for people and to have them send it in make them put it in the bottles.....and to the person who posted about making copies, that's a waste of paper, just rent a powerpoint projecter, it'll be cheaper than the copies.

Don't ask your mullah, he'll want you to recycle fertilizer and gasoline.
