Oh, man, I know the place. Up in Portland, OR, there's a place Voodoo Donuts. They've got so many crazy types of donuts, one was made with jager, and another one was just plain donut, but it had a shot of pepto bismol in the middle. though, they of course had to stop selling that one because they were informed you weren't able to sell medicine. they have a maple doughnut with bacon on top. they've got glazed ones dunked in cap'n crunch, and ones with fruit loops. The bacon one was my favorite, but it's definitely a place to hit up if you are ever in Portland.

My favorite national donut shop is Krispy Kreme. Whenever we go to Orlando, we have to get some donuts when the Hot Donuts Now sign is on. The regular glazed literally melt in your mouth. As for a local shop, I got to know a place called Goldstar Donuts in Bradenton, FL from a rep that used to show up at my work with these awesome donuts. He told me where it was and now whenever we're in the area, we stop there just for the glazed. They are about three times the height of Krispy Kreme's and it's hard to bite into it because of the height! The glaze just falls all over you! You see, my husband is a donut freak. When we were stationed in some remote area in the Sierra Nevada's, my mom actually Fed Ex'd a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts to my husband. They weren't the freshest because the area we lived in didn't get next day delivery, so we just heated them up in the microwave and they tasted just as good.

Best donut I ever ate was at Per Se in NYC. Thomas Keller's 'coffee and donuts'...yum. I'm sure it was just fried dough, and perhaps it was my own justification for the price of that meal, but somehow that donut just ruled!

Best shop? Voodoo Donuts in Portland, OR

I lived in Columbus, IN and there was a really great deli right across the street from my high school. It was called Olympia and they made all their pastries fresh every morning.

They make the BEST cinnamon twists (I think that's what they're called....the ones that are kind of like a glazed doughnut, but is sort of in the form of a figure 8).

Unfortunately, I am not able to eat doughnuts anymore. They give me the worst bloody heartburn...to the point where I literally thought I was going to die! I have fond memories of them, though!

Happy Donut Day!! My favorite used to be the original Dunkin' Donut-the one with the kinda handle thingy-but they don't make them anymore.:(

I believe it was the nutmeg in them that made them so tasty.

    What's your favorite Cheffy??
