A friend has a pug-beagle pup and it is getting a blue film on one eye, anybody know what this could be?

Vet said he couldn't tell what it might be just looking at it.

It sounds like a juvenile cataract forming on the eye. Have the vet refer her to a vet that specializes in opthamology and get the pup in to be seen.

I had a pug for 17 years and that happened to her when she got old the doctors said it was glucoma. If I had to guess, and I am not a doctor, but I would think it could be some kind of infection since the dog is so young. If I were you I would go to another vet.

My dog has the same thing, we took it to the vet and they said it could be any of the thing listed above, or he could have just hit his head hard on something. He has had it for about two years now, it is not getting any better or worse. I think she can still see a little out of it, but obviously I am not sure of this because I can't ask her. She is still a happy and healthy dog and it has not seamed to bother her at all.

The vet probably needs to do tests, but he's the only one who will know for sure. If he dosen't find another one who knows more about Pugs and eye problems.

I have a dog like that and after her got attached by a raccoon he started getting that in one eye and we toke him to the vet and he said no big deal all it means is he is going blind in one eye.

It is very possible that your dog has an ulcer on that eye especially if it is just a puppy. sometimes puppies play with sticks and things that can possibly scratch their eye.
