rottweiler vs. pitbull?

I have heard this question thousands of times and quiet frankly im tired of it. first of all no healthy rottweiler weights 160 pounds i should know i own 1 and no pitbull weights 110 pounds, rotties weight about 115 and thats high and pits weight around 85 pounds. and all these nonsence beign discuss about pitbulls can do these or that is all bull every dog can lock its jaw after it bites. and its proven that rottweilers have the most powerful bite and considering a fight i think that a rottweiler would win no doubt. and im not sayin these because i own 1 because i used to own 2 pits. but pits just have a bad rep because of idiots who dont know how to raise a dog, and rotties have a bad rep also because ignorants who do not understand them, they DO NOT need to be thought violence because they are natural guardians. and plz DO NOT make any stupid comments about pitbulls beating rottweilers ok. this dog comes from ancient times specifically bred to protect.

You hit that nail on the head. Why would anyone take a perfectly, magnificent animal and make him mean? I personally am much fonder of Rottweilers but I have also met many Pits that were great dogs. It really does depend on the owner and the dogs training. Barring a genetic defect (in-breeding) I would love to own either one of these breeds. Key words for this topic are - responcibility - proper training - medical care.

I don't think it really matters who could win a fight because they should not be used for that. I have also seen some really large pit/mix that would weigh in at 110. Yes both breeds have a bad reputation because of the news and idiots not training them or training them to fight.

But here you are putting the two dogs against each other and keeping the bad rep. thing going with your question which by the way is one of the ways they get a BAD REPUTATION in the first place.

I have two huge Am Staffs and you know they are not really for people who think they are tuff, mine are the biggest babies ever LOL they are a wonderful family dog and would do anything to make you smile, as far as the rotty I don't really know I imagine it's all on who has them and how you treat them, hell you could make a golden retriever mean if you wanted to.

i have a pit bull/rott/lab mix so i love them both. and who cares about fighting? only scumbags would let these dogs fight, i'd like to fight the owners and see who wins. but both breed can be great with a responsible owner.

actually most pits are 65 or less:) but i agree completely with you. it is irrelevant which would win because they should never be fought in the first place. both are powerful dogs, both are fabulous with people and children if properly trained, and both can be corrupted by sick and/or irresponsible ownership.
