What does, ..."Protect the constitution of the U. S. against all enemies, foriegn and domestic..." mean today?

We have been taught that to judge is wrong, so how do we even define enemy?

if the Executive Branch hasn't the will to enforce border laws (which is simple), how can we assume they have the will to protect us from our enemies (which is difficult)???????

Update:

CmdrBretz: Laws become laws only when the executive branch signs it--then it owns it. If anyone thought that the executive branch would actually enforce the current amnesty bill with any more vigor than it did the last amnesty bill, the objections by the people would be half what it is. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the executive branch to enforce laws it signs and work with congress to get rid of laws it doesn't like. Actually, you are off subject and you are wrong.

It means the same thing it did when it was written! This is not a popular thought but it is true! Good luck finding a politician with the balls to defend our borders!!!

One should never reserve moral judgement. I will judge you based on your actions and character.

Your final question has a faulty premise. A check the executive branch has on the legislative is that of enforcement. If it truly disagreed with a law they dwould not enforce it. Just like Jury Nullification.

    Next? Please.

Perhaps I assumed you understood the obvious that the executive branch would enforce a law it signed. Fairly obvious, so assumed you would understand I was talking about when a veto get overridden by a overwheming majority of Congress. Enforcement of a law on the books is a check the Executive Branch retains.

Such a statement is especially pertinent to today in regard to what Bush and Cheney are doing to the Constitution and the principles contained thereiin. They are in essence wiping their collective bungholes with it by jamming the Patriot Act down our throats and usurping most of the power from Congress. Bush and his elitist corp of thieves and liars are betraying the American people and the very foundations of the Constitution apon which the US is supposed to follow. Most of the major tenets of the UN Charter are derived from the Constitution and its principles, and Bush and his cronies have all but turned their backs on this organization which the US and "allies" created.

Bush and his wreckless policies are the greatest threat to the Consttitution and the people it was designed to protect. He is our worst enemy, "foreign and domestic"...
