    Hello Caryn;

    Just a warning - you may have problems finding a place to rent on your own if you have a dog. Most rentals do not allow pets. But, if you find shared accomodation, say like a house, you will have a much better chance of finding a fellow dog lover, and better yet a yard for your dog to play in. Another caution, there are some neighbourhoods that are not safe at night for a single gal even with a dog especially in East Vancouver (east of Main Street). Take a look at this website in regards to renting with a dog:

    http://apartmentguide.ca/Renters/renting-with-pets...

    Here are some good sites for accomodation in Vancouver:

    Renting Canada -

    http://vancouver.renting.canada.com/properties/sea...

    Craigslist:

    http://vancouver.craigslist.org/

    I hope you have an up to date passport - one that won't expire during your stay here. Good luck, and I hope you do well at school.

    Cheers,

    Petra M, Vancouver

    Are you moving from one part of Canada to another ? If so then you don't need anything to travel with a dog from Province to Province

    If you are coming from the US you will need to quarintine your dog in case of Rabies

    If your from the UK you will need a vets certificate but they will not quarintine your dog
