What kind of tortoise should I get?

This summer I am going to Shenyang, China and am planning to get a tortoise. I had turtles before, but never tortoises so I am asking if someone could give me the name of a breed of tortoise that is good for begginers, not huge, and does not hibernate. I was thinking about a Herman's tortoise.

Part of your choice will be what is available there, but the Hermann's tortoise is a good bet for a beginner.

Why would you buy a Mediterranean tortoise in China? Be careful, and be sure to find out what their laws concerning wildlife are.

The Herman's tortoise is a good bet for a starter.

I wanted a tortoise very badly for years- then I went to a pet store to ask questions and learned some live to be over 100. You actually have to will your tortoise to someone because they outlive you. That changed my mind! Hope this helps :)

No thought on account which you have no longer reported a lot approximately it yet in many situations my tortoise likes dandelion leaves, fruit, greens small parts of water, peas as an occasional shield and sunshine to keep them heat temperature. although, you need to no longer leave them out at evening you need to placed across them indoors in a cardboard field crammed with scrunched up newspaper interior the various case it ought to get eaten via technique of birds or foxes.
