Anyone ever used SUN-IN hair lightener? Questions!!?
I just bought a bottle of SUN-IN hair lightener!
I was wondering a few things....
1.) Does it even work!? I have medium-brown hair....
2.) If it does work, how long does it take to notice a color difference?
3.) Is it safe to go in chlorine water (a pool) with Sun-in in your hair? My hair won't turn green or anything in the pool, will it!?!?
Thanks so much!!
And any other info about this product would be GREATLY appreciated!!

My hair is a medium brown, and I used to use sun-in all the time. It always made my hair really blond, but the sun tends to bleach my hair out regardless. But in the summer, when you're outside all the time, it looks pretty good. I can't believe I used to be that blonde! I also used to go in the pool all the time with no trouble.
My cousin, whose hair is a few shades darker than mine, used it and her hair turned orange. If your hair is really dark brown, I wouldn't try it, but it works great on dirty blonde/light to medium brown hair.

Sun In is basically peroxide, which can be used as well the stronger peroxide. It does work but it is a gradual lightening and with medium brown hair it may just give you a very faint reddish tint. It works with the heat from the sun if your outside or you can use a hairdryer as well to speed it up, it isn't a super quick color change like hair dyes. If your hair only gets a little lighter it would be ok to go in the pool, if you put lots in and kept getting it lighter and lighter there is a chance the chlorine could cause some greenish tints which most people don't want. So if you just get a faint lightening of your hair since it is medium brown I think the pool thing would be fine. The more dryed out and damaged it seems that you have a higher chance of getting green hair. Hope that helps you out.

I've been using sun in for quite a while now. I really like it. If you want to go lighter without it being too drastic and damaging sun in is.the way to go. It works really well for light brown hair especially if it's natural. I wouldn't use it on chemically treated hair because it might cause a little breakage because of the peroxide. I'm pretty sure they changed the formula though recently because it smells better and I'm seeing less dryness than when i used to use it in high school.
Hope this helped!

I've been using sun in a couple times. My sister has light brown hair and she sprays it on the tips of her hair. Not much, as she wants it to gradually get lighter. By the end if summer her tips are blonde. It looks really nice. I have dark brown hair and so that I don't end up with orange/red results, I mix about 4 tblspns of my favorite conditioner with 2 tblspns a of sun in. I like sitting outside in the sun rather than sit with a blow drying or straightening over it. I'll sit for about 30 minutes every other couple days and I end up with a light brown highlight. So if you have darker hair, I'd recommend mixing it with conditioner so it isn't so harsh on your hair!

What color is your hair to begin with? If you have brown hair do not use it. I have been using sun-in for a very long time!! I have naturally light brown/dirty blond hair. I use sun-in all the time. I usually put it in after the shower and then I blowdry my hair and flat iron it. ALOT of people say that sun-in will turn your hair ugly colors and it is so bad for you hair. I went to get a haircut today and the stylist wanted to know who did my highlights because they were beautiful!!! When I told her I didn't highlight my hair and that I use sun-in she was like you have got to be kidding me! It looks great!! Twice a week I use VO5 oil conditioner to condition my hair so it doesn't dry out. I also use Paul mitchel silky serum after every shower. I dont suggest ever using Lemon juice!!! Lemon juice strips the moisture out of your hair and leaves it in a ton of knots!!!

Yes. I used it this summer and my bottle is 2 years old and it still works. My hair is brown and now I have light blonde to red at the roots. It works great. You just spray it in and go out in the sun or use a hair dryer on your hair too. The hot air helps it along.

Yes, It works. It makes your hair like reddish brown if you have medium brown hair. It does not take that long to tell if you blow dry it. I do not remember anything bad happening to me when I went swimming in a swimming pool, but I can not say how your reaction may be. I used it a long time ago.

I had jet black hair when I used the lemon sun-in and even used my straightener to activate it there was minimal if any damage and it turned it a very pretty light brown. 10/10 for sure!

it does work, but u have to spray alot, and then blow dry ur hair but make sure ur hair is damp after u blow dry it u will notice the differnce if u dont see nothing use it again the next day same thing, but im sure it will work with ur hair color it will look nice, and ive tried it and everyone always thought i had it natural it gave my hair a nice glow color to it, about the pool not sure i never went swimming with it, but make sure u sprayed ur hair and its been a couple of days u have not used it, then it should be alright
