First, there is an associated rise in CO2 levels. This means that plants will thrive and produce additional oxygen for us! Crops will benefit and help feed more people. ( Note: rising levels of CO2 doesn't mean that higher CO2 is a cause of Global Warming; it may be associated with it).
Second: Less dependence on fossil fuels to heat homes in the winter! Less air pollution.
Third: New regions (like Greenland and Northern Canada could become productive farmland for more food.)
Global warming has been happening for the last 16000 years. Just hope it continues...otherwise, a drop in global temps might indicate a new Ice Age!

As global warming continues, arctic ice will continue to melt away. As this happens, the fictitious Northwest Passage -- which had long been searched for -- and never actually existed -- can become a reality in the near future. This will become a major boon to world commerce. That is, if we still have a few seaports left to conduct such business!
But this benefit could never compare with the myriad of negative consequences resulting from global warming.

Some may see initial benefits of Global Climate Change. For instance in the northern mid-west, we have had unseasonably warmer temperatures in the spring, and later into the fall. Our winters haven't been as cold either.
However, as the climate change becomes more pronounced, it will be extremely destructive especially to areas prone to flooding, drought, and other things.
So, it may SEEM that Global Warming might be kind of nice....especially in northern climates, there are really no benefits.
