The movie you're thinking of is Constantine and it was a great movie; I highly suggest you see it. It is based on the DC Comics / Vertigo graphic novel series "John Constantine - Hell Blazer" Here's a brief synopsis of it from the official website:

I think your are thinking of the movie Constantine. I rented this movie with great anticipation, only to be sorely disappointed after watching it! It was soooooo boring. I kept waiting for something exciting and cool to happen, but it just did not live up to the hype.

If you want to see a really good movie with Keanu Reeves in it, see The Devil's Advocate instead. It is so much better! Plus, it has Al Pacino and Charlize Theron in it.
