Why do most songs seem to refer specifically to our feelings? Esp: Love, Sadness, Joy, Loss?

Ballads are [sometimes] an exception, and there are others. Although the exceptions inspire an emotional response, the theme is not specifically ___[fill in the blanks]___ feelings.

Why do we gravitate to popular songs that seem to speak primarily of our feelings?

    Because emotions are a universal thing, we can all relate one way or another

    I think we are always seeking ways to put words to our emotions. We hear a song and the lyrics express what is going on within us.

    becasuse i think by writing songs about our emotions we can express ourselves or find a song that expresses us and they are something we can all relate to
