Toni Robinson is quoted as saying: "Horses change lives..." Who is Toni Robinson?
"Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls -- they give us hope." -- Toni Robinson
This quotation appears in hundreds of sites across the internet. It's a lovely sentiment.
Who in the world is Toni Robinson?
____
Thank you for your answers. I can't find this one anywhere.
4 AnswersHorses1 decade agoIs there any way to make my 360 Blast appear to "Friends Only"?
Yes, I know that there is an option for that in the drop down menu that appears when you change the blast. However, whenever I have chosen friends only it reverts to public. I don't always want my Blast to be public.
Thank you.
2 AnswersYahoo Profiles1 decade agoWho would I need to contact to view the Shroud of Turin when it is shown in 2010?
It has been reported today in a Yahoo! News item ( http://www.christiantoday.com/article/pope.announc... ) that the Shroud of Turin will go on display once again in 2010.
Authentic or not, I would like to view the Shroud when it is displayed. I am interested in knowing the name of an agency or organization that would be helpful to me in acquiring admittance to view the shroud. I would appreciate any information, advice, or suggestions -- especially the name(s) of contacts.
Thank you so much for your time and your suggestions.
4 AnswersTurin1 decade agoWhat happened to the victim in the 1996 case of Maria K, who was locked 9 years in a coffin-like wooden chest?
In"The Australian" (online) has an article entitled "In AustriaNo One Can Hear You Scream" (The Australian, 2008). http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197...
The article talks about a case in Vienna, Austria, involving a mentally handicapped person -- the "1996 case of Maria K, who was locked in a coffin-like wooden chest."
Wikipedia mentions that she was locked in the coffin for 9 YEARS by her parents. The article claims that she was 23. (Fritzl Incest Case, 2008). (Was that before or after the incarceration?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritzl#Similar_cases
I am wondering where I can find more information about this Maria K. coffin case. Please post a link or suggest a further search option. I'd like to know what happened to the girl, whether she is still alive, what was the result of her confinement, and what was the consequence to her parents? I appreciate your time and thoughtful response.
2 AnswersOther - News & Events1 decade agoCan you suggest an awesome housewarming gift for a newly divorced friend who is beginning life in a new home?
My friend lives in sunny Florida. I am from the cold north country. I need to have my gift in her home by the 3rd of March!! (I will gladly overnight it if it's small.) No cut flowers! She has a special needs adult daughter and two cats. I want this to be really special.
4 AnswersFriends1 decade agoWhat should I be when I grow up?
Ok... Agreed. It sounds silly, but I don't know the answer. I am fifty years old. I have secretarial training, was once liscensed as a Traditional Dental Assistant, have worked as a teacher's assistant, and have worked as a nurses' aid. I have raised and home schooled seven children, although this year I am taking sabatical as a home schooling mom.
I am presently enrolled in college online studying to become a paralegal. Although this is very interesting to me, I'm not sure I am in the best location geographically (very rural here) to make good use of a degree in that field.
I am curious as all get out. I love to learn. I love to interact with people. I love researching and digging up information. I also like quiet environments, am not overly active, am actually quite shy, and enjoy my freedom.
What would be a good career option for me at this age? I understand that I could volunteer, but I'd like to make some money.
Thanks for all of your original ideas.
6 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoPlease help. I have an Adobe PDF Extension error. Can you help me fix it? I'm not having any luck!?
This is what the error message says:
"One or more Adobe PDF Extensions are disabled. This may impact how PDF's are displayed in Internet Explorer. Please go to Manage Add-ons in Internet Explorer and enable add-ons from Adobe. You will need to restart Internet Explorer after performing this action."
I have no idea what they are talking about. I can find a place that mentions add-ons, but I can't find any place where Adobe add-ons can be enabled.
I would really appreciate any help that you could give to help me solve this issue.
Thank you in advance.
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhy are male descendants preferred over females in the line of succession to the British throne?
According to Wikipedia:
"The line of succession to the British Throne is an ordered list of the people in line to succeed to the throne of the United Kingdom. The succession is regulated by the Act of Settlement 1701, which limits it to the heirs of the Electress Sophia of Hanover, as determined by male-preference primogeniture, religion, and legitimate birth:
"A person is always immediately followed in the succession by his or her own legitimate descendants (his or her 'line'). Birth order and gender matter: older sons (and their lines) come before younger sons (and theirs); a person's sons (and their lines), irrespective of age, all come before his or her daughters (and their lines)."
The quoted reference and the complete list of "rules" can be found at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_of_succession_to...
Since the purpose of the list seems to be to honor the Electress Sophia of Hanover (female), why give preference to a male over a female?
15 AnswersRoyalty1 decade agoAm interested in but confused by online degree programs. Is there a Consumer Reports type site that can help?
Phoenix? CTU? Kaplan? FMU?
Am hoping to study Legal Assistant/Paralegal [maybe Criminal Justice] online. Would like to start with my Associates, continue to Bachelors, and finally study for my law degree. Where do I go to find impartial information about each college, its reputation, costs, accreditation, etc?
Thank you.
5 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoI took SATs 30 years ago. How/where can I get the records of those scores for my present college application?
I'm applying to college and need my SAT scores. I don't know what dates I took them. (I'm not even sure of the year.) How can I get the information that the college needs so that I can complete the application?
Thanks.
5 AnswersStandards & Testing1 decade agoIn your opinion, why would emotions (especially sadness) exist in the "more highly evolved" man animal?
While clearly an asset in non-verbal communication, our emotions accent our times of weakness. Doesn't this make us MORE vulnerable to predators and weaken our natural defenses to disease and deception?
Thanks, Answerers.

11 AnswersBiology1 decade agoWhy do most songs seem to refer specifically to our feelings? Esp: Love, Sadness, Joy, Loss?
Ballads are [sometimes] an exception, and there are others. Although the exceptions inspire an emotional response, the theme is not specifically ___[fill in the blanks]___ feelings.
Why do we gravitate to popular songs that seem to speak primarily of our feelings?

1 AnswerOther - Pets1 decade agoNothing screams "global warming!" more than the endangerment of the polar bear. What can I do to stop this?
I have read many articles lately about the cause/effect relationship that exists between the event of global warming and the falling numbers of polar bear. The polar bear feed on the seals that they can capture from their perches above the water on polar ice. Without the ice, they have no way to capture the seals. Please see the report posted today on Yahoo! News. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070521/sc_nm/climate_...
I am not a scientist, and I am not talking about sending massive amounts of money to research projects. Please, though, tell me one thing that I can do, perhaps one change in my daily life, that will help to stop (or even reverse) the greenhouse effect caused by global warming.
Thank you. I will commit to a change if someone can offer one that is reasonable and effective.

4 AnswersInsurance1 decade agoPoodles, American Curly horse, Sphinx cats... what are some other so-called "hypoallergenic" animals? Thanks!
Although I understand that a truly hypoallergenic animal may not exist, there are some animals that seem to be more tolerable to people with allergies than others.
Are there other animals pets that are considered "hypoallergenic" that might fill the petless void that some people live in.
Also, is there an animal rescue or agency that promotes the uniting of these perhaps exotic animals with people who might benefit from their companionship?
