Having huge problems getting through to the Driving Standards Authority?

Question

Failed my driving test yesterday (4 minors, 1 "serious" ffs) and need to book another test asap. I can't use the internet as the DSA very helpfully changed my licence number (without my consent) when I requested a replacement as I'd lost the paper part so now when I try to log in, my licence number doesn't marry up with theory test certificate number. 

I've been trying to phone through to them (on 0870 0101 372, then options 2, 2, 2) but keep getting a generic "try later, cannot connect you message". 

Is there any other way anyone knows of, of either booking a practical test, or getting my theory test certifcate updated with my new licence number so I can log in and book it online?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can try 08700101372 then **231 which goes through to the HGV section but they can sort out cars too or try at different times, easiest is between 10.30 and 12  and 2.30 and 4.
