How do ask coworkers for donations?

Personally I just go around to everyone and say here's the need what can you contribute to help out. I generally get a donation from most everyone. As for funeral flowers our office has a donation policy that each of us give 5.00 a month.

why don't you have something out where people can donate anytime even when you don't need to order flowers and you won't have to ask. they can just put spare change in there or money when they have it. by the way wherever you work should pay for it. tightwads.
