How do you address a receptionist who is showing to much clevage?

We the management team are trying to find a politically correct way to let our receptionist know that some days she is showing way to much clevage for an office setting. But we are all men and are afraid that this could turn into some sort of sexual harrassment or discrimination issue. What should we do?

Have a meeting with the whole office and address dress code, or work appropriate clothing, along with a few other issues. If that seems too awkward send out a memo to the entire office and include the dress code issue. Best of luck on this sticky situation.

Wow..have either your wife or another female (posing as a customer) say something 2 her about it..and u steep in and call her out on her dress code in the office...telling her that it is causing problem in the "Work " area. Or u could get a Handbook out and just shoe her that the hand book clearly states...No inappropriate clothing in the work place. There r a lot of different ways 2 bring this 2 her attention without worrying about Harassment...Good Luck!!!

Instead of singling her out I would just revise or create a dress code for both men and women and sent a memo to everyone. A week of so after that if she still isn't dressed to the code I would have a woman talk to her. Just reminding her of the dress code and saying that the new policy should be followed and keep it short and sweet. and upbeat. Their really should be a women on your managment team anyways.

either have a work meeting and adress proper dress code to everyone, use examples of good and bad ways. this way you dont single her out and make her feel uncomfortable. or you could send out an office email. out lining appropriate work dress. Give her a week to get the message and then if she continues to dress inappropriate then maybe hold a meeting (with a female present) so she does not feel uncomfortable and singled out.

Maybe type up a office memo for everyone, that way your not naming names, and state in the memo that even though the weather is getting warmer we all need to remember to dress for the office, and refrain from underdressing

Be direct and to-the-point. Have her immediate boss tell her that she needs to dress more professionally and ought not be showing as much skin as she does. Don't try to word it in a colorful way or try to tone it down or anything; if the person delivering the message is anything but firm and direct, she may take it as a sign that 1) She's attractive to the messenger, 2) she's attractive to someone above the messenger, or 3) you're going to fire her and this request is only a prelude of things to come.

If I were yo, I'd mention it during her appraisal that her attire for the office is too revealing and explain to her the dress code you have in place. If you don't have a dress code, make one with reasonable rules for both men and women

Isn't there someone in charge of office rules and regulations? have them call her in the office and explain that it isn't proper to dress that way at work, it may put her in the wrong light? if its an all men office thats why she dresses that way, for the attention.

How could telling her be sexual harrassment?

It would be if you asked her to reveal more - but to cover up?

    No way.

However, why not take a leaf from the Red Indians?

They used to get their wives to do the torturing!

So get one of your wives to tell her.
