Yes, He did. Thinking outside of the box has become useful in the modern age of complex sciences and processes. It will become even more important in the future.
Need an example? Think about the people at Mission Control back in the 1960s when the Apollo 13 incident happened. They had to think outside the box several times in order to keep the astronauts alive and return them to Earth.
I encourage you to do research on the actual event. Don't waste time watching the recent movie about it. That film is more Hollyweird than factual.

I think so, absolutely. Thinking 'out of the box' can be a number of things. Being able to think independently instead of just going along with what a majority might think or standing out in the secular world.
Offering an olive branch would go along with the acceptance theme if you are Christian. It depends on what God you believe in.

1. I don´t think we were ever at war with God, so he doesn´t need to offer an olive branch.
2. God may have given some people the ability to think out of the box, but others not so much.

Different grammer, but Yes.
For Christians presently that would be combining, the 'All scripture is inspired by God...', (2 Tim. 3:116-17), along with the '2 or more witnesses' principle (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1). To use a item to the Jews, be the head, not the tail. Head leads (have faith/trust in him), tails follow (faith in self).

He gave us the ability to reason, and in this we are made in the divine image. God is big enough o handle our questions, challenges, and doubts. He seeks a relationship with us that is freely given. Love can not be imposed, or it is not love.
The problem with us is that we are freely given a choice, and a mind to question and seek, but we rage when the answer to some of our questions is no. We do not want God, we want a genie to grant our wishes. Take a look at out human relationships - we mirror this attitude there as well.
We crave choice and freedom, and hate being held accountable for the choices.

Since Adam & Eve gave up the fruit of eternity for the fruit of knowledge ... we have been searching out of the box for knowledge and our goal is to change the knowledge to wisdom.
So, who are you offering the olive branch too?

Offering an olive branch is hardly thinking out of the box!
Offering an olive branch and cutting their right hand off when they reach out to take it, is thinking out of the box!

Yes we are to think out of the box. Jesus did things that were not normal to the society of his day. He sat with sinners, publicians, prostitutes. Everyone that was a outcast he helped in some way or another. The priests wouldnt even think of doing that. God loves us all we are not to think of anyone as less than ourselves.

your question needs to be fleshed out man, you make no sense 'Such as an offering an olive branch.'
i mean ,come on, what kinda question is that?
- Anonymous1 decade ago
Nope. Adam and Eve tried to think out of the box, and look what happened! All of mankind was punished with "original sin" as a result.
The Christian god teaches to do as you are told, and that to think outside the box is a sin. They don't even like you to ask questions, for goodness sake!
